The Soter kids (I don't think they are really getting the point of their costumes. They are soon to find out that Halloween brings on a boon of candy!)
She is the cutest little chubby blue monster ever!!!
This is the Soter kids at Halloween (well the trunk or treat). They looked awfully cute and we had such a fun time! Now I am looking forward to Thanksgiving and Christmas! This is baking season for me! Woohoo! Today I set about to baking cinnamon rolls. I have never made them myself, but today I was ready to bust out a double batch. Unfortunately I didn't realize until after I had been raising the dough for an hour, that my yeast wasn't working anymore. I had to throw the whole batch out and when Katie wakes up we are off to Costco so I can purchase new yeast. Then I will be back in the saddle again.
I love this time of year. I am having such the quandry about Christmas music. It's all I can do not to turn it on, but last year I started it in October and by the time Christmas rolled around I was a tiny bit burnt out on it. That is a sad thing for me. This year I am trying to hold out as long as possible, but I don't know how much more I can take. There is nothing better than baking with Christmas music playing in the background. That is my idea of heaven.
My kids and I have been going on and off through sickness. Blast this beautiful fall/winter time. I love it, but it's a guarantee for sickness. My poor little Katie girl came down with strider (a really yucky form of croup) last Friday and that was terrifying. Luckily there are such things as pediatric urgent care. They gave her a shot and she was breathing better within the hour. Then just yesterday I took her in because she has another ear infection (she had one just last month). Poor baby. Matthew is on for another year of albuterol and pulmicort treatments for his bronchial asthma. No fun! I got a call from Nicholas' preschool teacher today to come and pick him up because he wasn't feeling well. He managed to squeeze by the illness we've all had, until now. Yikes! All I can think is that maybe we will be sick now, so that in a week and a half we will be doing better for our Utah trek. We are crossing our fingers for a healthy Thanksgiving and we can't wait to be up there. Life is great!

oh man Mandi I am so sorry about you guys being sick. That makes me so sad for Katie and Matthew especially! Poor sweet things! I hope we can stay healthy for our trip to Rexburg for Thanksgiving. I hope you guys get feeling better so we can hang out:) And I love their costumes especially Katie's.
Martha Stewart watch out, you are a woman on a mission! Sounds like your fam has been quite ill lately, and I'm sorry for that! We need to hang out again soon although with the holidays it will be tricky, but we must persist. I shall call you!
Love the Halloween pictures! I'm not sure if there's anything more frustrating than spending hours on bread just to find out your &%*@ yeast doesn't rise! I can totally relate, Sunday I spent 6 hours on a double batch of rolls and turned out like bricks, yeah, I was mad!
Wow, you are a brave momma! Sick kids are so hard, and so sad to have to deal with. Granted, Natalie has only had a runny nose twice in her life, so I probably don't know what I"m talking about. I'm so sorry about little Katie! That had to be so scary! Good luck with fending off other illnesses over the holidays. We are missing you guys!
Cute little Halloween costumes! I couldn't agree with you more about baking with Christmas music in the background, it just sets the mood for the season I love it. I have been wanting to make some cinnamon rolls too lately, I think it is because of the weather change and the Holiday's! Happy Baking and hopefully the kids get better.
Mandi - they were so cute in their costumes!! I can't believe how rolly Katie! I wish I could squeeze those legs!!
