Puerto Vallarta!

Steve won a trip through work to Puerto Vallarta for 4 days, and as luck would have it, it was right over our anniversary! It was so incredibly beautiful and we had the most amazing adventures that we will never forget. Here are some fun pictures from our trip. (We didn't take our kids by the way. My brother and his wife are wonderful and stayed with them at our house while we were gone). This was the view right out on our hotel balcony. It really doesn't get much closer to paradise than thus. It was so beautiful and we felt really lucky to be there.
Why not have a peacock at your hotel? That's all I want to know.

This was a sand sculpture we saw as we were walking the streets of downtown Puerto Vallarta. There were some other amazing sculptures as well, but one of them is of a mother nursing her baby that is pretty graphic for a sculpture and the other was of course of the Virgin Mary. Pretty cool though and the sunset was beautiful!

This was a restaurant that we ate at in downtown Puerto Vallarta. Isn't it beautiful! The food was great, the weather was great and we were even seranaded (pretty sure that's not spelled right). That night was an adventure I will always remember. I won't go into detail because that could take a minute, but all I can say is "I wouldn't recommend riding a bus in Mexico after dark!" Lets just say that after an 1 1/2 tour of the major heart and ghetto of Mexico and being kicked from one bus in the middle of nowhere and luckily finding another bus. Then getting dropped off about 1 mile from our hotel in the middle of the night later to walk home on the dark streets. It was what I would like to tenderly call "Mr. and Mrs. Soter's Wild Ride" All I can say is that I would never go to Mexico if my husband didn't speak fluent Spanish. It is a beautiful, very adventurous place though.

If you look super close at the water you can see a little line that is somewhat darker. Oh yes, this is a true and live dolphin out in the wild. I was more than excited. Apparently the tour guide said it was asleep. Whatever it was, I was pretty excited to see something wild. I'm just glad it wasn't a shark because being in the same water with a shark, boat or no boat, would have given me a heart attack!

This was one of the stops on an all day tour that we took. I think this is where we began our hike to the waterfall. The tour was super fun. The only catch is that it ended up being on a booze cruise boat (all you can drink alcohol) and we were the only ones not taking advantage of that offer. Let me tell you what, people get pretty fancy when they have a little alcohol in them.

Isn't this so pretty. This is the falls we hiked to. It wasn't as big as the picture of the tour made it look like, but it was beautiful and the water was so nice for swimming after the 45 minute hike to get there. It was such a fun day!

This is Steve and one of the horses that we could have been riding on for just $15 each way! They offered to let you ride horses instead if hiking to the waterfall. It sounds romantic to ride one, but no way! It was so hot and they were seriously so stinky! Walk it was and we are all the better for it. Look at that handsome man!

You lucky duck! How fun! I've been dreaming and scheming of going to Mexico this summer with Cory...but alas...it doesn't look like it's meant to be. I'm so glad you guys got the chance to celebrate your anniversary in such a great way...your 6th, right? Wow! We just celebrated our 3rd on the 7th. Isn't marriage the best? What genious came up with such a great idea? Oh yeah.... :)

Wow that looks so beautiful! Two thumbs up of Steve speaking Spanish because I would have been annoyed not understanding anybody. Scary bus trip, that sounds like a not good episode of Dateline NBC.

Looks like a very fun trip. I would be jealous except for the fact we had our own. Thanks for the shorts. They were great (I should've worn them the first day in the sun so I wouldn't have gotten so sunburned. They came in handy after that, though). As soon as I find a post office in this podunk place, I'll mail them back, I promise. I miss you guys!!
