Adventuring Out Into the Wild Frontier

I am so completely blogger retarded! This picture was supposed to be at the end as a random little cuteness, but here it is at the beginning. I took this picture of Katie this morning because she was so darn cute in her "piggies" after I finished her hair.

Okay, so this post has like a bazillion picture on it, but I could hardly choose. I was being way controlled by only putting this many. Last Saturday Steve was finally available for an afternoon (yeah!) and so we decided to take advantage of having him and the good weather. We took off out into the desert and found such a fun spot. We roasted hotdogs and made smores. Then we went on an "adventure" walk. It was such a great day. There's is nothing better for little boys than dirt and their daddy! (and little girls too!)

Nicholas and Daddy building the campfire. Way to go guys! It's lookin' great! Notice Katie in the background cheering them on.

My men roasting marshmallows over an open fire. Such fun! It was the best day ever!

We introduced smores to the boys and they were not at all disappointed

This is me and my sweet little Katie girl. She didn't get to appreciate all the dirt and grime, but just give her a minute and believe me, she will be in there with the big boys. I think that girls should be able to enjoy the dirt just as much as the boys.

We found the best spot to roast our hotdogs and marshmallows. This was a ginormous rain water lake. The boys had the best time throwing rocks in. I am so excited that it's getting nice outside. How often do little boys get to go out and get as dirty as they want and throw all the rocks they want without getting in trouble. I definitely call this little boy heaven!

This is Nicholas digging for "treasure" out in the desert. I am not one to say the desert is pretty, but it really was pretty and the weather was beautiful! He was bigtime into our wilderness adventure. What a cute little man.

Here's the angry Matthew face again. Just remember that he's only saying "Cheese!" He's just really fierce about it! This is my grubby little man being a real boy and getting dirty. I love it!

I realize that overalls are not the "in" thing, but my gosh this little boy hits my spot in these overalls, with his little Converse shoes. What a handsome little dude!

What a fun idea. Our family ought to try that out. It looks like your boys had a ball getting so dirty.
